🔗 Share this article A Ton of Anime Updates Arrived During the Holidays The Yuletide season offer a plethora of activities considerably more enjoyable than checking the headlines: discovering surprises, indulging in festive fare, and using deep breathing to avoid snapping at family members. I hope you were able to accomplish all these things and more. That said, the world of entertainment never sleeps, and this is notably true for the realm of anime. A slew of exciting announcements surfaced during the festive period, and just in case you missed any, here is a summary of the most exciting bits. One-Punch Man Season 3 Will Continue (In 2027) Without a doubt the biggest piece of news, the much-discussed disaster that was season 3 of One-Punch Man proved insufficient to halt the series' continuation. Season 3 will return with a second cour in 2027—a date so remote they easily could have dubbed it season 4. Even more shocking, the studio J.C. Staff will continue to be leading the project. On a positive note this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is attached to direct from the beginning, which could be taken as a good sign. Yet, the promotional image for the continuation is the same image the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou looking opposite ways. This suggests that, by now, they could be mocking the fans. The Ruri Dragon Series Is Set to Be the First Shonen Jump Anime By Kyoto Animation Kyoto Animation has built a name for being an elite animation studio, setting itself apart not just for the high caliber of its work but for the fair treatment of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. Curiously, until now, it had not produced an anime based on a manga serialized in Shonen Jump, perhaps the best-known magazine in the industry. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a excellent choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became massive popularity when it launched in 2022 after just a handful of installments, but then went into a lengthy break due to the author's health issues. When it resumed publication with a more relaxed pace, the series demonstrated it hadn't lost the fans' support and enthusiasm, and now the community is thrilled about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation. Kingdom Its Sixth Season Is Getting a Follow-Up Currently in Production Kingdom is the top-selling, epic Shueisha manga that is other than One Piece. If you've haven't come across it before, it's because it only fairly recently obtained an English translation, but the anime has been airing for a while, and its sixth season was a further outstanding entry. As it happens that was just the first cour, because a "sequel" has been announced as in development, and it will almost certainly air in 2026. Science Saru Will Adapt A Witch in Mongolia Into an Anime Series Another studio known for the excellent quality of its projects, Science Saru has brought us hit shows of the quality of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the true story of Fatima, an prominent woman and thinker in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. From the trailer, the anime named Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a truly original and intriguing visual style, which reminds me a bit of Ranking of Kings. Scheduled to launch in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my list of anticipated shows. Tougen Anki Will Continue With a Second Season Right after the conclusion of its twenty-fourth episode, it was announced that Tougen Anki will be getting a follow-up. Based on the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki adapts the manga by Yura Urushibara. The second season of the anime will delve into the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a firm air date has yet to be revealed.
