Aryna Sabalenka finished the year with an notable 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of High Performance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in tournament winnings.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".
